The Players
It is the identity of your Personality (Card 56), and by extension the interacting agent of your Ego, which perceives mortality. The concepts of life and death happen within intervals of TIME (Card 70). A person will identify some aspect of Self as being the “core” or “soul” or “essence”, but that part is not limited to a single lifespan or incarnation. Spiritual seeking happens within the confines of the Physical Plane. Whereas, Essence, the Soul (Card 58), is eternal and beyond time and space.
The Aspects: Choices, Options and Consequences
While in a body, you are destined by design and agreement to pursue an expression of Self as embodied for a finite period of time. The greatest challenge is not that this fated nor deterministic, but rather the freedom to address your will to any circumstance and make a choice. Cumulatively, we might think of time the currency your have to invest, spend, or squander. But that choice is yours, even when options are limited to just two: stay doing the same or do something different.
