As to animals. A couple of items tickled me to comment, since I love pets and feel so connected to animals. (If I were to have continued down one life path, I would have been a biologist or zoologist…love that stuff!) In regards to relationships with animals, pets particularly, this is how I’ve come to understand it.

My determination and use of any or all belief system(s) is best expressed by author Joan Didion: “we tell ourselves stories so that we can live.” My own conclusion about the human mind is that in absence of other stories or narratives: archetypes, myths, histories, belief systems, or theories; our minds would otherwise take whatever available material and manufacture one for itself. If for no other reason, to give the Intellectual Center something to do. The mind has a rapacious hunger for input. I suspect, we would be driven mad without stories and beliefs.

Deniers of the idea of Global Climate change citing the greater number of cold weather events ought to be given this analogy.
A refrigerator requires electricity (heat) to run the motor. That motor produce exhaust. To prove this to yourself stand behind your refrigerator. The cold generated by the heat is a compensation effect. Our Earth is encountering this phenomenon.
So the next time you encounter an “unbeliever” just tell them to go stand behind a refrigerator. And when they complain about the heat, just remind them that the hotter it gets, it will get colder soon enough!
Introductory Note: Owing to a great many students requesting elaboration on this topic for the last couple of years, I was motivated to really quiz Michael about such things as Angels, Faeries, the Realm of pure rationale. What I received will be posted over the course of the next month.
By the way, the Fourth Realm is what they call Terrestrials (Earthers).
